Wemyss Bay Station is blooming marvelous thanks to greened fingered Wemyss Bay residents.
Anyone who has been in Wemyss Bay Station this summer could not help but admire the lovely floral displays.
The Friends of Wemyss Bay Station, who plant and maintain the beautiful floral arrangements at the station have recently installed a flower and vegetable garden on disused ground behind the car park. It includes a vegetable plot with beds of carrots, leeks, onions and salad crops.
There is also a ‘polytunnel', which will be used for growing bedding plants for transfer to containers in the station. All the plants are being cared for by people who live in nearby flats. The new garden allows local flat-dwellers a chance to reconnect with gardening.
Many of our guests who go to Bute for the day from The Foresters have remarked on how nice the station is and what a pleasure it is to leave from that station. A big thanks to these volunteers who make the traveller's journey so much more pleasant.
