Ardgowan Snowdrop Walk

We are now seeing the signs of Spring in Inverkip. The snowdrops are out in abundance. On the 13th of February, and by the kind permission of Lady Shaw Stewart, visitors were allowed to stroll through the Ardgowan Estate which was covered with a fantastic blanket of snowdrops.

Although it was a cold day, and wet underfoot there was a very good turn out. Most people were well wrapped up, and there was a colourful display of wellington boots. At the end of the walk hot drinks and home baking were available in the hall of Ardgowan House, which had a roaring coal fire. A lovely end to an enjoyable afternoon. The proceeds for this event will be divided between Scotland's Garden Scheme and the Friends of Ardgowan

The Fairlie Yacht Club Burns supper

The Fairlie Yacht Club held their bi-annual Burns night in the Chartroom Inverkip Marina on the 5th of February. This was the first event of their Golden Jubilee Year. Some of the members stayed the night at the Foresters House and according to them the night was a great success.
